The
chief users of EDM machines are die and mould makers, mainly for the automobile
industry, white goods, brown goods, aeronautics and aerospace, electronics
and toys.

The
manufacturing plant for the Peugeot 106 in Mulhouse - France - has
five ONA machines
|
|
The
most important of these is the automobile industry, and although many of
our customers are subcontractors to vehicle manufacturers, they also include
manufacturers such as Renault, Peugeot, Ford, General Motors and Jaguar.

In
the aerospace industry, for example, where it is necessary to work with
a very high level of precision, both EDM systems are used (die-sinking and
wire-cut). Die-sinking is most suitable for achieving high precision machining
in parts with complex shapes in special materials (alloys), while wire-cut
suits machining jobs with deeper cavities and where access is extremely
difficult.
|
One
example is Rymsa, which has developed a range of equipment (TC & R antennae,
horn antennae, BFNs) for 37 different satellites (Italsat, Hispasat, Arabsat,
Thaicom-3, Intelsat K-TV, Astra 1K & 2B, etc.).

| Managers
at the company consider that "the most important advantage of using EDM
machines is that it allows us to manufacture parts with very low-thickness
ribs (0.4 mm) without creating any internal stresses in the material". |
