We have the great pleasure of advising you in this article of a major achievement by ONA in the world of EDM, the machining of advanced ceramics. While they are gaining ground thanks to their advantages over more conventional materials, advanced ceramics are more difficult to machine. The techniques used are in general costly and slow. EDM makes it possible to do the job more rapidly, at a more reasonable cost. ONA, in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country, has looked into the requirements and the possibilities where the machining of these materials is concerned, has defined the parameters, and has undertaken to develop the technology necessary. |
