ONA, success in Singapore

ONA Electroerosión recently signed an agreement with the largest polytechnical institute in Singapore, ITE BALESTIER, for the sale of six EDM machines. Three of these are wire units, while the other three are penetration. The total amount of the contract exceeds 600,000 euros and represents a major step forward in our expansion policy. Our objective for the coming years is to export 15% of our production to Asia.

ITE BALESTIER, recognized as a technology institute operating at international level, is home to many of the technology leaders in Singapore. Such technology centres are of fundamental importance in a firm's marketing strategy. On this present occasion, and for the first time, ITE BALESTIER has placed its faith in a Spanish firm.

However, ONA, which in the second half of 1999 had already installed machines in five Singapore firms, faced very tough competition. Taking part in the bidding were all the large firms in the EDM sector.

Currently ONA Electroerosión is present in the major Asiatic markets: South Korea, China, Philippines, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, as well as Singapore. At ONA the picture is clear: Asia has to be part of the future.
